Okay, so I wanted to try out this “fat oil slick click” thing I saw online. It looked kinda cool and pretty simple, so I figured, why not?

Getting Started

First, I grabbed a shallow dish. Like, really shallow, a plate would even work. I didn’t want to waste a ton of stuff. Then I poured in some water, just enough to cover the bottom.

Adding the Colors

This is where it got a little messy. I took some different colors of nail polish – I used a dark blue, a bright pink, and a shimmery gold. I carefully dripped a few drops of each color onto the surface of the water. The key is to do it gently so they don’t just sink to the bottom.

The “Click” Part

I am not sure where is the ‘click’ come from, I just followed the toturial did. I took a toothpick, I used one made of wood, and now I need to dip it into a different nail polish, I select silver one, and lightly touched the drops of color on the water. The silver color will interact with other colors, and make all the nail polish floating on the water dispered quickly. And the patterns formed!

Admiring My Work (and Cleaning Up)

It actually worked! The colors spread out and made this cool, swirly, oil-slick-looking design. I wouldn’t say it was perfect, but it was definitely neat. And, pro tip: have some nail polish remover handy. This stuff gets everywhere.

So, yeah, that’s my “fat oil slick click” adventure. It was a fun little experiment, and it didn’t take too long. If you’re bored and have some nail polish lying around, give it a shot!
