Okay, so I finally got my hands on a ’67 Corvette. It’s been a dream of mine since, well, forever. This one is a bit of a fixer-upper, but that’s half the fun, right?
First thing I did was just look at it. I mean, really look at it. Walked around it a hundred times, taking in every curve, every dent, every bit of rust. It’s a classic for a reason, and even in its rough state, it’s beautiful.
Getting Started: Assessment and Cleaning
- The Inspection: I popped the hood and just stared. Honestly, I don’t know much about engines, but I’m learning! I checked the fluids – some were low, some were…questionable.
- The Grime: This thing was covered in years of dust and who-knows-what-else. I spent a good few hours just washing it, inside and out. Felt good to see the actual color of the paint start to show through.
- Tires Check,They were old.
Tackling the Interior
The inside was…well, let’s just say it had seen better days. The seats were ripped, the carpet was stained, and the whole thing smelled like old mice.
- Ripped everything, the seats and carpet.
- Find new custom seats and carpet.
The Engine – Where the Real Fun Begins
This is where I’m really out of my depth, but I’m determined to figure it out.
- Change the oil, spark plugs.
- Find the leak source.
It’s a long road ahead, but I’m taking it one step at a time. I’m documenting everything, taking tons of pictures, and learning as I go. It’s a mess, it’s a challenge, but it’s my ’67 Corvette, and I’m going to bring it back to life.
