Okay, so, I’ve been scrolling through Instagram, right? And I keep seeing Keke Palmer’s hairstyles. This girl’s hair game is seriously on another level! I mean, one day she’s got a sleek bob, the next she’s rocking these long, beautiful braids, and then BAM! She hits you with some crazy color like blue or sherbert orange. It’s wild! I got so inspired that I decided, “You know what? I’m gonna try to recreate some of these looks.”

First, I had to do some research. I spent hours, and I mean HOURS, looking at pictures of Keke. I saved a bunch of them to my phone, trying to figure out which styles I could actually pull off. Some of them were, like, way too complicated for my basic skills. I’m no hairstylist, people!
I started with something simple: a sleek bob. I figured, “How hard could it be?” Well, let me tell you, getting that perfect, straight-across cut is not as easy as it looks. I used my flat iron and a whole lot of hairspray. It wasn’t perfect, but hey, it was a decent first attempt. I even tried to copy her warm, winter-friendly tone by using a temporary color spray. It washed out after a day, but for a few hours, I felt like a whole new person! I even matched her makeup, using similar eye shadow and lipstick colors. This made the whole look more complete and fun.
- Bold Blue Curls: This was a whole adventure.
- Next up, the braids. Oh boy, the braids. I watched a ton of tutorials online, but let me tell you, braiding your own hair is a workout. My arms were killing me! I tried the long, waist-grazing copper-colored braids. It took me an entire afternoon, and they definitely weren’t as neat as Keke’s, but I was pretty proud of myself. I felt so different, and a little bit like a queen.
- Experiment with Color: After that I tried a variety of colors that Keke had.
Trying New Styles
After the braids, I got a little more adventurous. I tried a sherbert-hued updo, which was super fun. Then I moved onto some short twists, which actually turned out pretty cute. They were way easier to do than the long braids, so that was a win. I even experimented with different colors. I used temporary hair dye to try out that bold blue that Keke rocked. Let me tell you, that was a statement! I felt so bold and different. It was a blast.
This whole experience has been so much fun. It’s pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me realize that changing your hair can totally change your whole vibe. I’m not sure I’ll be keeping up with all of Keke’s styles – some of them are definitely best left to the professionals – but I’m definitely going to keep experimenting. Who knows, maybe I’ll even try that platinum bob someday. Wish me luck!
