Okay, so I’ve been thinking about getting a new bag, and I was torn between Kate Spade and Coach. They’re both pretty popular, you know? So, I did what any normal person would do – I went on a little shopping spree to figure it out myself.
First, I started looking into what other people were saying online. Seems like Coach is ranked pretty high, like #497 on some global brand list, and their market cap is, whoa, $3.29 billion! Kate Spade is a bit lower at #721, but still, they’re up there.
Then, I hit the stores. I checked out both Kate Spade and Coach outlets. I looked at a bunch of bags, felt the material, checked the zippers, you know, the whole nine yards. Honestly, the quality seemed pretty similar between the two. They both felt nice and sturdy.
The real difference I noticed was the style. Kate Spade bags are definitely more, how do I put this… girly? They have a lot of bright colors, fun patterns, and some are even a little quirky. Like, I saw one shaped like a cat! Coach, on the other hand, is more classic. Their bags are more neutral colors, simple designs, you know, the kind of bag you can use every day without it being too flashy.
I remembered reading somewhere that Kate Spade was started by a husband and wife back in 1993. That’s kind of cool, right? A family business that turned into a big fashion brand.
My Decision
- I ended up buying from both brands!
- I got a Coach bag for my everyday stuff, it has lots of pockets and is super organized, which works great when I want to go out for work.
- And I splurged on a smaller, brighter Kate Spade bag for when I go out with my friends or go on the occasional date night.
So, which is better? It really depends on what you’re looking for. If you want something fun and unique, go for Kate Spade. If you want something classic and reliable, Coach is your best bet. Or, be like me and just get both!
