Is Victoria Secrets Plus Size Friendly? (We Found the Answer and Best Options)

Okay, so, let’s talk about Victoria’s Secret, specifically their plus-size offerings. I’ve been on a bit of a journey with this, and I figured I’d share my experience. There’s been some, I’d say, a little drama and a lot of confusion around this topic.

Is Victoria Secrets Plus Size Friendly? (We Found the Answer and Best Options)

So, first of all, I tried to find out if they even had plus sizes. It wasn’t as straightforward as you’d think. I searched high and low, and it was like, why do you have to search to find a plus-size section? I got the sense that it wasn’t really their focus. That was my first clue that this might be a bumpy ride.

Then, I went digging around for a sizing chart that included their extended sizes, and guess what? Couldn’t find one. Not a single one. How am I supposed to know what to order if there’s no size guide? It’s like they’re setting you up for failure, and I got a little pissed off.

But, I’m not one to give up easily. I decided to take the plunge and order a few things. And you know what? The sizing was all over the place. Some things fit okay, but others were way off. It made me wonder if their sizes are universal. I mean, are they? Do they just run small? Or is it just me?

I also came across some articles talking about how Victoria’s Secret has tried to improve their image by hiring plus-size models. Good for them, I guess, but does that really translate to actually making clothes that fit real, plus-size bodies? I remember reading something about a size 14 model, and I was like, “That’s great, but what about the rest of us?”

Here’s the thing that really got me, though. I heard that their bra sizes are limited. Like, they only go up to a certain band and cup size. This was really frustrating for me, especially when I was trying to find a bra that actually fit. It’s like they’re saying, “Sorry, if you’re above this size, you’re out of luck.” It’s not exactly the most inclusive message, you know?

My Personal Experiment

  • First Attempt: I ordered a 4X underwear, just to see how it would go. It arrived, and I tried it on. And let me tell you, it was a struggle. It was not a true 4X, not even close.
  • Second Attempt: I thought, maybe it was a fluke. So I ordered a bra, thinking that might be different. Nope. Same issue. The band was too tight, the cups were all wrong. It was a mess.
  • Third Attempt: I decided to try one more time, this time with some loungewear. I figured, how could you mess up a comfy pair of sweatpants? Well, they did. The fit was just awkward and uncomfortable.

So, yeah, my experience with Victoria’s Secret’s plus-size line has been less than stellar. It feels like they’re trying, but not really succeeding. It’s like they’re dipping their toes in the water but not fully committing. And honestly, it’s frustrating. All I want is some cute, comfortable clothes that actually fit. Is that too much to ask?

Unless things change, I don’t think I’ll be shopping there again anytime soon. I just hope they eventually get it together and start offering a wider range of sizes that actually fit real people.
