Is the longchamp le pliage xs leather any good? Learn what makes this small bag special.

Alright, so I’d been on the hunt for a new small bag for what felt like forever. You know how it is, you want something small, easy, but still looks good, right? My old go-to was looking a bit tired, and I needed something for those days when I just didn’t want to carry a big tote.

I kept seeing the classic Longchamp Le Pliage nylon bags, literally everywhere. And they’re great, super practical, but I guess I was after something that felt a little different, maybe a bit more… well, leather. Then, I think I was just scrolling online one day, and I spotted it – the Le Pliage but in leather. And then I saw they made an XS version! That really got my attention. I thought, “Hmm, leather, XS size… this could be it.”

I didn’t just jump on it straight away. I thought about it for a good while. Leather’s a bit more of a spend than the nylon, obviously. I looked at the colors, went back and forth a bit. There was this one color that just kind of stuck in my head. So, after a bit of mulling, I finally just went for it. Placed the order and then did that thing where you impatiently wait for the delivery.

When the package finally showed up, I was pretty keen to get it open. First thing I did was feel the leather. It was nice and soft, not stiff or anything, which I was happy about. The XS size did look quite small when I first pulled it out, and I had that quick thought of, “Oh gosh, is this too tiny?” But it also looked really neat and compact.

Actually Using It

So, the real test was actually using it. I started by transferring my absolute essentials. My phone slipped in easily. Then my cardholder, keys, a lip balm, and my small hand sanitizer. I was actually pretty chuffed to see that it all fit without me having to wrestle with the zipper or making the bag bulge weirdly. It held its shape nicely.

I’ve been wearing it mostly as a crossbody bag. The strap length works well for me, and it sits comfortably. The biggest thing is how light it is. You barely notice you’re wearing it. I’ve taken it out for quick errands, grabbing coffee, popping to the local shops, and even for a casual evening out with friends. It’s just so easy to grab and go.

The leather itself feels good. I’m trying to be mindful, like you do with any leather item, but it doesn’t strike me as something I need to baby excessively. The little signature flap with the press stud is there, and the main zip feels solid. Getting my things in and out is no fuss at all, which is a big plus when you’re out and about.

What I’m really liking so far:

Honestly, I haven’t really run into any major drawbacks yet. It’s doing exactly what I hoped it would: be a compact, decent-looking, and functional bag for my daily essentials. I’m glad I took the plunge and got it.

So, that’s my little story with the Longchamp Le Pliage XS leather bag up to now. It’s quickly become a regular in my bag lineup. It’s straightforward, has a kind of understated chic vibe, and it’s just super practical when I want to keep things light. Pretty pleased with this one, and I reckon I’ll be getting a ton of use out of it.
