Is the Girlfailure Babygirl Girlboss Meme Toxic or Empowering?

Okay, so you know I was scrolling through TikTok the other day, right? And I kept seeing these memes – girlfailure, babygirl, girlboss – all over my FYP. I was like, “Okay, I gotta figure out what this is all about.” It seemed kinda funny and a bit… chaotic, which, let’s be honest, is totally my vibe. So, I decided to try and make my own.

Is the Girlfailure Babygirl Girlboss Meme Toxic or Empowering?

First things first: research. I hopped over to KnowYourMeme (because, duh) and started digging. I needed to understand the different archetypes, the key characteristics, the ✨aesthetic✨. Girlfailure seemed to be all about embracing the mess, babygirl was kinda pathetic but endearing, and girlboss was… well, you know, leaning into that hustle culture thing. I took some notes, mostly on my phone while I was supposedly “working.”

Next, I started brainstorming. I thought about my friends, my family, even some celebrities. I wanted to find the perfect examples to illustrate each meme. Like, my friend Sarah is a total girlfailure – always running late, spilling coffee, but somehow still managing to get things done. My brother, bless his heart, is a babygirl through and through. And my aunt Susan? Total girlboss, running her own business and crushing it.

Then came the fun part: the meme-making. I used a free meme generator website (I ain’t paying for Photoshop, are you crazy?). I found some funny images online, cropped them, added the text, and boom! I made a few different versions, experimenting with fonts and layouts. It was surprisingly addictive. I probably spent a good two hours just messing around with different ideas.

After that, I showed them to my friends in our group chat. They were dying laughing! Some of them even had suggestions for how to make them even funnier. Collaboration is key, people!

  • Girlfailure: Picture of Sarah tripping over air with the caption “Me trying to adult.”
  • Babygirl: A picture of my brother looking sad with the caption “Please be nice to him, he’s doing his best.”
  • Girlboss: A picture of my Aunt Susan in a power suit with the caption “Get you a woman who can do both.”

Finally, I posted them on my Instagram story. They got a decent amount of engagement – a few laughs, some shares. Nothing viral, but hey, it was a start! And honestly, I had a blast making them. It was a good way to procrastinate and get creative at the same time.

Is the Girlfailure Babygirl Girlboss Meme Toxic or Empowering?

So yeah, that’s my journey into the world of girlfailure, babygirl, and girlboss memes. It was silly, it was fun, and it definitely made my day a little brighter. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go find some more meme inspiration. Gotta stay on top of the trends, you know?
