Today, I want to talk about a little fashion experiment I did with a red and black sweater vest and a black shirt. It’s a simple combo, but I think it’s got some real potential, and I was eager to see how it would turn out.
Getting Started
So, I started with this red and black sweater vest I’ve had for a while. It’s nothing fancy, just a regular knit vest with a simple pattern. I’ve worn it a few times before, usually with a white T-shirt underneath, but I wanted to try something different this time.
The Experiment
I decided to pair the vest with a plain black shirt. I thought the black would provide a nice, solid base for the red and black in the vest to stand out. I put on the shirt first, then I pulled the sweater vest over it. First step, done!

Adding Bottoms
Next, I needed to figure out what to wear on the bottom. I considered a few options:

- Slim-fit chinos: A beige or navy pair seemed like it would balance out the colors on top.
I tried all of them,I ended up going with the chinos. They just seemed to fit the overall look better. They were comfortable, and the color went well with the black shirt and the red in the vest.
Finishing Touches
To complete the outfit, I put on some white sneakers. I felt they kept the look clean and casual, which is what I was going for. Loafers would have worked too, for a slightly more polished feel, but I liked the sneakers better for a relaxed vibe.
The Result
I looked in the mirror, and I was pretty happy with how it turned out! The black shirt really made the red and black in the vest pop. The chinos kept the look balanced, and the sneakers added a touch of casual comfort. It felt like a good outfit for a casual day out or even a relaxed workday.
Overall, I’m glad I tried this little experiment. It was a fun way to mix things up in my wardrobe, and I think I’ll be wearing this combo again in the future. Maybe next time I’ll try it with the denim skirt or the flared jeans, just to see how it looks. But for now, I’m happy with my red and black sweater vest, black shirt, chinos, and sneakers combo.
