Okay, so I’ve been obsessed with Christian Louboutin spike heels for a while now. I finally decided to take the plunge and, well, try to incorporate some of that edgy vibe into a pair of my own shoes. It was a journey, let me tell you!
Getting Started
First, I grabbed an old pair of plain black heels that I didn’t mind experimenting on. I figured if I messed them up, it wouldn’t be the end of the world. Then, I went online and ordered a bunch of different sized metal spikes. I wasn’t sure exactly what look I was going for, so I got a variety pack.
The Messy Part
- I laid down some newspaper because I knew this was gonna get messy.
- I used a strong adhesive – some kind of super glue that I found, nothing fancy.
- I started by placing a few spikes around the heel area, just to get a feel for it. It was tricky! Getting them to stick straight and evenly spaced was harder than I thought.
Honestly, it was a bit of a trial-and-error process. I ended up pulling off a few spikes and re-gluing them multiple times. There was some glue residue, a few smudges, but hey, that’s part of the DIY charm, right?
The Final Touches(almost failed)
I decided to go heavier on the spikes around the heel and then gradually added fewer as I moved towards the front of the shoe. I didn’t want to completely cover them, just add that signature Louboutin-esque edge. There were moments of frustration, I won’t lie, especially the time that my cat rubbed its head on the wet glue!
The Result
After letting them dry overnight, I slipped them on. They’re definitely not perfect, a little rough around the edges, literally. But they’re unique, and I made them! They have that cool, punk-rock vibe I was aiming for, and they’re definitely a conversation starter. Would I wear them to a fancy gala? Probably not. But for a night out with friends? Absolutely!
