Okay, so today I’m spilling the tea on trying to recreate that iconic Kendall Jenner 2009 vibe. You know, the one with the super-young Kendall rocking the early internet aesthetic?

First things first, I needed a reference. I went digging online, found a few photos that really captured the era. Think blurry cameraphone pics, maybe some questionable fashion choices… you get the idea.
Then came the outfit. This was tricky. 2009 was a wild time for fashion. I ended up raiding my younger sister’s closet – she’s got some hand-me-downs from that era that are pure gold. We settled on a layered tank top situation, some dark wash skinny jeans (thankfully those are back in style!), and a pair of beat-up Converse.
The hair and makeup were next. Think messy, slightly greasy hair, and super minimal makeup. A little bit of tinted lip balm, maybe a touch of mascara, and that’s it. I even tried to crimp my hair a little bit to add to the early 2000s vibe.
Now, for the actual photos. I really wanted to nail the grainy, low-quality look of 2009 cameras. I actually used my old phone, a real dinosaur. The camera quality was perfect – terrible.
I played around with the angle and the lighting until I got what I was looking for. I wanted it to look like a candid shot, like someone just randomly snapped a picture of me.

Finally, the editing. I used a basic photo editor on my phone to darken the image, increase the contrast, and add a little bit of grain. I also blurred it just slightly to make it look even more authentic.
The results? Honestly, not bad! I definitely captured the essence of Kendall Jenner 2009. It was a fun little project, and a reminder of how much things have changed in the past decade. I might even try recreating another iconic celeb look from that era – any suggestions?
