Okay, so I’ve been needing a haircut badly. Like, split-end city, bad. I’ve heard mixed things about Ulta’s hair salon, so I figured I’d bite the bullet and try it out myself, and document the whole shebang.
Booking the Appointment
First things first, I tried to book online. The website was a little clunky, to be honest. It took me a few tries to find a stylist and time that worked for me. I ended up calling the salon directly, and the person on the phone was super helpful and got me set up with an appointment for the next day. That was a relief!
The Salon Experience
When I got there, the salon was busy, but not, like, overwhelmingly chaotic. The receptionist checked me in pretty quickly, and I only had to wait about 5 minutes before my stylist, Sarah, came to get me. First impression of Sarah: She was really friendly and had awesome hair herself, which is always a good sign, right?
We went over to her station, and I explained what I wanted. Basically, just a trim to get rid of the dead ends, and maybe some long layers to give it some shape. I showed her a couple of pictures on my phone, just to be sure we were on the same page.
- Consultation: This was pretty thorough. Sarah asked a lot of questions about my hair type, how I usually style it, and what kind of products I use.
- The Wash: Oh my gosh, the scalp massage during the shampoo was heavenly. I could have fallen asleep right there. She used some really nice-smelling products, too.
- The Cut: Sarah was meticulous, snipping away at those dead ends. She kept checking in with me to make sure I was happy with the length and the layering. She really took her time and didn’t rush things, which I appreciated.
- The Style: She blow-dried my hair and gave it some loose curls. It looked so much healthier and bouncier!
The Verdict
Honestly? I was pleasantly surprised. My hair looked so much better, and the whole experience was really relaxing. Sarah was a great stylist, and I felt like she really listened to what I wanted.
It was a little bit pricier then I expected, but in all, it was worth it.
I’ll definitly consider going back again the next time my hair needs some love and care.
