Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about these here Kamala pearl earrings. I seen ’em on the TV, all shiny and danglin’. Folks are callin’ ’em all sorts of things, “unique,” “custom,” “handmade.” Shoot, I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that fancy talk. But I know what I like, and I reckon some of them earrings are purty.
Now, they got all kinds, I hear. Some are dangly ones, some stick right to your ear. They call ’em “dangle drop earrings,” I think. Sounds like somethin’ you’d drop down a well, but I guess that’s just city folk talk for earrings that swing around.
I saw one pair, they called ’em Chucks and Pearls Earrings. I ain’t got a clue what “Chucks” are, maybe some kinda fancy shoes? But the pearls, them I know. My grandma had a string of pearls, wore ’em to church every Sunday. Said they was special. These earrings, they got little pearls hangin’ down, kinda like my grandma’s necklace, but smaller. They sayin’ they cost $12.00. Twelve dollars! That’s a lot of money for somethin’ so small. But I guess if they’re “handmade” and all, that’s what you gotta pay.
Then there’s somethin’ called Cat Ladies for Kamala. Now, that’s a funny one. I ain’t never seen a cat wearin’ earrings, but I guess city folk do all sorts of strange things. Maybe it’s got a picture of a cat on it, or maybe it’s just named that way. Who knows? These city folk, they got a name for everything, even if it don’t make no sense to us country folk.
- Dangle earrings – They swing and sway, just like a swing on a porch.
- Stud earrings – Them’s the ones that stick right to your ear, like a tick on a dog.
- Handmade earrings – Means somebody took their time and made ’em special, not just some machine in a factory.
- Custom earrings – I reckon that means you can tell ’em what you want, and they’ll make it special just for you.
I heard tell these earrings got popular ’cause of some lady named Kamala. I ain’t sure who she is, some politician or somethin’. But I guess if she wears ’em, everybody wants ’em. That’s how it goes, I reckon. One person does somethin’, and everybody else wants to do it too. Like them fancy coffee drinks, all foamy and sweet. Used to be, coffee was just coffee. Now, it’s got all sorts of names and flavors. Same thing with these earrings, I guess.
But you know what I think? A pearl is a pearl, no matter how you wear it. Whether it’s on a fancy necklace, or danglin’ from your ear, it’s still a purty thing. And if you like it, that’s all that matters. Don’t matter if it’s “unique” or “custom” or whatever them city folk call it. If it makes you feel good, that’s good enough for me.
So, if you’re lookin’ for some kamala pearl earrings, go ahead and get yourself a pair. Just remember, it ain’t the name or the price that makes ’em special, it’s the way they make you feel. And if they make you feel like a million bucks, well then, they’re worth every penny.
Now, I gotta go feed the chickens. All this talk about earrings is makin’ my head spin. City folk and their fancy ways, I tell ya. But sometimes, even an old country woman like me can appreciate a purty thing, even if it’s got a funny name like Cat Ladies for Kamala.
Anyways, you go on and find yourself some nice earrings. Just make sure they don’t fall off when you’re doing your chores or else you’ll lose them in the dirt. And remember, it’s not about how much they cost, it’s about how much you like them. That’s what my mama always told me, and she was a wise woman.
One more thing, don’t go spendin’ all your money on them earrings. You still gotta buy groceries and pay the bills. A little bit of purty is nice, but you gotta have your necessities too. That’s just common sense, somethin’ these city folk seem to forget sometimes.
