Givenchy Green: Is It Worth the Hype and Price?

Alright, let’s talk about my little adventure with “givenchy green”!

Givenchy Green: Is It Worth the Hype and Price?

So, it all started when I saw this color online. It just grabbed me, you know? A super classy, muted green. I thought, “I gotta try to recreate that!” My first thought was, “Where do I even start?” I mean, I’m no pro color mixer, but I’m willing to mess around a bit.

First things first: I dug out my old acrylic paints. I had a bunch of basic colors: white, black, yellow, blue, and a kinda questionable red. Figured that had to be enough, right?

Then, I grabbed a piece of scrap paper and started mixing. I started with white as a base, because, well, green is usually pretty light.

  • Round 1: Added a dab of yellow. Nope, too lemony.
  • Round 2: Tossed in some blue. Started getting somewhere, but it was too bright, like a kid’s drawing.
  • Round 3: That’s when I decided to introduce a tiiiiny bit of black. BOOM. Started to dull it down. It was still off, but definitely closer.

At this point, it looked…muddy. Like swamp thing muddy, not givenchy green muddy. I almost gave up, but I decided to keep going, thinking maybe a hint of brown. I mixed a little yellow and red to create an orangy-brown and added just the SMALLEST amount.

That actually helped! The red added some warmth that brought it closer to that muted, sophisticated vibe. After that I had to add just the tiniest bit more blue again, because it was getting too warm. The process went on and on like that: black, white, blue, yellow, red, a little of this and a little of that. This step was really like “feel your way forward” stuff.

Givenchy Green: Is It Worth the Hype and Price?

It was slow going. I mean, REALLY slow. Like, spend 30 minutes just adding tiny drops of paint and stirring slow. But after a while, I started getting pretty close. I ended up with something that wasn’t an exact match, but it was definitely in the ballpark. Maybe a cousin of givenchy green, or something.

The Lesson Learned: Color mixing is HARD. But it’s also kinda fun, in a frustrating, meditative way. And patience is key! Just keep adding tiny amounts of color until you get where you want to be.

And that’s my story with givenchy green! Maybe next time, I’ll just buy the actual color. Haha!
