Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “gingerbread latte” thing everywhere online, and I finally caved. I love anything gingerbread, and a bath sounded amazing. So, I decided to try and make my own gingerbread latte bath experience. Here’s how it went down:
Gathering My Supplies
First, I grabbed a bunch of stuff I thought I’d need. This was totally experimental, so I just kind of winged it. I got:
- Epsom salts (because, duh, bath)
- Some milk powder (I figured this would make it “latte-like”)
- Ground ginger (the most important part!)
- Ground cinnamon
- A tiny bit of ground cloves
- Brown sugar (for that molasses-y smell)
- Vanilla extract
- A Big Mug (had to make it look the latte part!)
Mixing It Up
I dumped about two cups of Epsom salts into a big bowl. Then, I added maybe half a cup of the milk powder. I wasn’t really measuring, to be honest. Then came the spices! I sprinkled in a good amount of ginger – probably a couple of tablespoons. I added less cinnamon, maybe a tablespoon, and just a pinch of cloves because that stuff is STRONG.
Next, I threw in a few tablespoons of brown sugar. I really wanted that sweet, gingerbread-y scent. And finally, I splashed in a teaspoon or two of vanilla extract. I mixed everything together with a spoon until it looked pretty evenly combined.
The Bath Time Test
I started running a hot bath. While it was filling, I poured my gingerbread mixture under the running water. It dissolved pretty quickly, and the smell was already AMAZING. Seriously, my whole bathroom smelled like a bakery. Then filled my mug with some of the disolved bath water, and ready to enjoy it!
I hopped in and…wow. It was super relaxing. The Epsom salts helped soothe my muscles, and the scent was just heavenly. I soaked for a good 30 minutes, just enjoying the warm water and the gingerbread aroma. Honestly, it felt like I was bathing in a giant, warm cookie.
The Verdict
This was SO worth it! It was easy to make, smelled incredible, and left my skin feeling soft. I’ll definitely be doing this again. Next time, I might try adding a little bit of honey, too, just to see how that changes the scent. But overall, this homemade gingerbread latte bath was a total win!
