Okay, so I wanted to try and recreate some of those cool winter celebrity outfits I’ve been seeing all over Pinterest. You know, the ones that look effortlessly chic, even in freezing weather? Yeah, those. I figured, “How hard could it be?” Spoiler alert: it’s a little harder than it looks.

The Research Phase
First, I spent a good chunk of time just scrolling through Pinterest and Instagram. I saved a bunch of pictures of celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, and Kendall Jenner, focusing on their winter street style. I noticed a lot of common themes: oversized coats, chunky knit sweaters, cool boots, and of course, lots of layers.
Gathering the Pieces
Next, I raided my own closet. I dug out all my winter clothes and tried to find pieces that matched the vibes of the outfits I’d saved. I realized I had a few good basics, like a black wool coat, a couple of oversized sweaters, and some decent boots. But, I was definitely missing some key items.
- I didn’t have any of those cool, slouchy beanies that everyone seems to be wearing.
- My scarf collection was seriously lacking.
- And I needed that ‘it’ bag!
So, I made a list of what I needed and hit the stores (mostly online, because, well, it’s cold out there!). I tried to find affordable dupes for some of the designer items. I mean, I’m not a celebrity, I don’t have a celebrity budget!
Putting it All Together
This is where the real fun (and frustration) began. I started trying to recreate the outfits I’d saved. I layered sweaters under coats, added scarves and hats, and tried different combinations of boots and pants.
Some outfits worked pretty well. I was actually surprised at how easily I could recreate a few of the looks with just a few tweaks. Others… not so much. I definitely struggled with getting the proportions right. Sometimes, the oversized look just ended up looking like I was drowning in my clothes.

The Final Verdict
It is not easy!
It takes some time.
But it very funny!
Overall, it was a fun experiment! I definitely learned a few things about winter style, and I added some new pieces to my wardrobe that I’ll actually wear. It’s not as easy as the celebrities make it look, but with a little effort, you can definitely channel their winter style. My main takeaway? Layers are your best friend, and a good coat can make any outfit look instantly more polished.
