Hey everyone, I’m back with another story, and this time it’s about a photoshoot I did, inspired by Kelsea Ballerini. You know, the country singer? Yeah, her. I’ve been following her for a while and I just love her style, both in music and fashion. So, I thought, why not try to recreate some of her iconic looks?
First, I spent hours scrolling through her Instagram, her music videos, and even some magazine covers she’s been on. I wanted to find some looks that I could actually pull off with stuff I already had or could easily get. I made a little list of outfits and makeup styles that caught my eye. I mean, she’s got so many great looks, it was hard to choose!
Then came the fun part – trying on clothes! I dug through my closet and pulled out anything that I thought might work. I found some dresses, some jeans, some boots, and even a cowboy hat. I was surprised at how many things I had that could work for a Kelsea-inspired look. Also, I was able to find some affordable and similar pieces from local stores.
Next up, makeup. I watched her makeup tutorial videos and I also watched her makeup artist’s videos. I practiced a few times, trying to get the right look. Her makeup is usually pretty natural, with a focus on glowing skin and a pop of color on the lips. I’m not a makeup expert, but I think I did okay. I used a lot of highlighter, that’s for sure!
Once I had the outfits and makeup sorted, I had to find a good location for the photoshoot. I didn’t want anything too fancy, just some simple backgrounds that wouldn’t distract from the outfits. I ended up using my backyard, my living room, and even a nearby park. I got a friend to help me take the photos, which was way more fun than using a tripod and a timer.
We spent a whole afternoon taking photos, trying out different poses and angles. It was actually harder than I thought it would be! Posing like a model is no joke. But we laughed a lot, and I think we got some really great shots. The lighting wasn’t always perfect, but we made it work.

After the photoshoot, I spent some time editing the photos. I didn’t want to change them too much, just some basic adjustments to the brightness and contrast. I wanted to keep it natural, just like Kelsea’s style. The photos that looked like I was trying too hard to be sexy didn’t make it into the collection.
Here are some of the looks I went for:
- The “Country Girl” look: Jeans, a cute top, cowboy boots, and a hat. This one was easy to put together and felt really comfortable.
- The “Red Carpet” look: A sparkly dress, heels, and some bold makeup. This one was a bit more challenging, but I felt so glamorous!
- The “Casual Cool” look: A simple dress, sneakers, and minimal makeup. This one was perfect for everyday wear.
- The “Album Cover” look: This one was based on the photo shoot she did for her fourth album. I found a similar outfit and tried to recreate the pose and the lighting. It was fun, but definitely the hardest one to do!
In the end, I was really happy with how the photos turned out. It was a fun project, and it made me appreciate Kelsea Ballerini’s style even more. It also made me realize that I actually enjoy being in front of the camera, which is something I never thought I’d say! Maybe I’ll do another one of these sometime. What do you guys think? Should I try to recreate another celebrity’s style? Let me know in the comments!
