Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, following all your instructions.

So, I’ve been seeing this Amiri Shotgun Hoodie everywhere lately. You know, the one with the perfectly placed holes that look like, well, shotgun blasts? I thought it was cool, but the price tag? Forget about it. I figured, I’m kinda crafty, I bet I can do something similar myself.
The Mission: DIY Amiri-Inspired Hoodie
First things first, I needed a hoodie. I didn’t want to ruin a good one, so I grabbed an old, plain black hoodie from the back of my closet. It had some pilling, but who cares? It was about to get a whole lot more distressed.
Next, I needed to figure out the “shotgun” part. I definitely wasn’t going to use a real gun! I watched some YouTube, looked at the original thing images, and pondered for a bit. I ended up grabbing a few different tools:
- Scissors: For starting the holes.
- A razor blade:For detail.
- Sandpaper: To rough up the edges and make the holes look more worn.
- Tweezers:To pull at the threads and fray the edges even more.
I laid the hoodie out flat on my kitchen table (covered with some newspaper, of course). Then, I started experimenting. I used the scissors to snip some small holes, trying to keep them kinda random, like the real deal. Some I made bigger, some smaller. It’s really better do a little at the beginning, because there’s no turning back.
The razor blade was good for making some of the holes look more jagged. I’d carefully slice into the fabric, then use the tweezers to pull at the loose threads. This part took some patience, but it really helped to get that distressed, “I’ve been through a war” look.

Finally, I used the sandpaper to rough up the edges of all the holes. I just rubbed it back and forth until the fabric looked frayed and worn. I even sanded some areas that didn’t have holes, just to add to the overall distressed vibe.
The whole process took me maybe an hour or two, and honestly, I was pretty stoked with the result! It definitely wasn’t a perfect replica of the Amiri hoodie, but it had that same edgy, destroyed look, and I did it myself for pretty much zero dollars. My old hoodie was transformed!
It’s great.I love it.
