This here Seiko SRP775, it’s a good watch, I tell ya. It’s one of them dive watches, they call ’em. Big and chunky, like a good, sturdy tractor tire. It ain’t no fancy thing, but it gets the job done. My grandson, he’s always online lookin’ at these things, he told me all about it. Says it’s a “Turtle.” Looks like a turtle shell, I guess, kinda round and tough.
This Seiko SRP775, it ain’t like them flimsy watches you get at the market. This one’s made of that strong metal, stainless steel, they say. Heavy, too. You know it’s there on your wrist, that’s for sure. Feels like it could take a good whack and keep on tickin’. Like old Bessie, our mule, strong and reliable.
They say it’s got somethin’ called a “Seiko 24 jewel automatic movement.” Now, I don’t know nothin’ about jewels in a watch, but my grandson says it means it’s a good one. Winds itself up, too, just by you movin’ around. Handy, that is. No need for them little batteries that die on ya all the time. Like a good wind-up toy, just keeps goin’ and goin’.

My grandson, he showed me some other Seiko watches online. Said this one’s called a “re-release” of some old watch from a long time ago. Said they used to call that one a “Turtle,” too. This one, he says, is even better. “King Turtle,” he calls it. Like it’s the king of all the turtle watches. Sounds like a load of nonsense to me, but the boy knows his watches.
They talk about 40 hours of “power reserve.” I guess that means it’ll keep tickin’ for 40 hours even if you ain’t movin’ around. That’s a long time. Longer than I can go without a nap these days. Good for if you’re layin’ up in bed sick, I suppose. Don’t have to worry about your watch stoppin’ on ya.
I’ve seen folks wearin’ these Seiko watches. Big strong fellas, mostly. Construction workers, farmers, that sort of thing. Not the type to wear some delicate little thing on their wrist. This watch, it can handle a rough life. It’s a workhorse, this Seiko SRP775, not a show pony. This is a good Seiko Turtle Prospex.
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout a “JDM version” with somethin’ called a “Kanji day wheel.” I don’t know nothin’ about that. Sounds foreign to me. My grandson probably knows all about it. He’s always lookin’ up stuff about them Seiko watches. He calls himself a “Seiko nerd.” Whatever that is. He says this one Seiko Prospex SRP775 is good.
