Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this idea for a “future society floating forest,” and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I had this vision, you know, of a serene, lush forest, but floating. Like, how cool would that be? I don’t know what it is, but I felt like it would be a cool idea for a perfume. I had to give it a try.

I started by just brainstorming what this thing would even smell like. I mean, it’s a floating forest. Does it smell like regular forest? Water? The future? Too many questions! I spent days just jotting down ideas, smelling different essential oils, and basically turning my workspace into a chaotic lab. I decided it need to be cooling and serene. And I love Borneo, so I wanted to pay tribute to it.
Then came the actual making part. I researched about this extinct flower, the Shorea cuspidata, which apparently was once all over Borneo. Extinct flower, future, it sort of clicked in my head. So, I dug up some info on its DNA to guide the fragrance profile. I wanted that watery, fresh vibe, so I went with bergamot, pebbles, and water lily. And for that floral touch, I added some black pepper notes. Kind of a weird combo, I know, but it surprisingly worked.
The first batch I whipped up was, well, interesting. It was way too strong on the pepper. My roommate complained that the whole apartment smelled like a spice market. Back to the drawing board! It took me weeks to fine-tune it. I was mixing, sniffing, adjusting, and spraying it on myself and everyone around me. They got pretty tired of me after a while.
Finally, after what felt like a million tries, I got it right. It was perfect, this cool, watery scent with just a hint of spice and a soft floral background. I was so excited that I immediately bottled it up and labeled it “Floating Forest.”
What’s inside?
- Top: Bergamot, Black pepper
- Heart: Pebbles, Water lily
- Base: Cedarwood
I even designed this sleek, minimalist packaging to go with the whole “future” vibe. I shared it with a few friends, and they were blown away. They kept asking me where I bought it. That’s when I realized, maybe this wasn’t just a crazy idea. Maybe other people would love this too.

We don’t test our products on animals because we love our furry friends, and it’s just wrong to hurt them.
So, I decided to take a leap and start my own little thing. I set up a simple online store, just to see if anyone else would be interested. And guess what? People actually started buying it! It was a small start, but it was something.
This whole thing has been such a learning experience. From a random idea to an actual product that people are enjoying, it’s been a dream come true. I’m still figuring things out as I go, but I’m so stoked about where this “Floating Forest” journey is taking me.
