So I wanted quiz templates for my Insta posts to make things fun and got stuck figuring where to find decent free ones. Felt like hunting for unicorns at first.
First Try with Search
Clicked my Instagram app and tapped that plus button to make a new post. Scrolled through all template options – nothing for quizzes. Seriously? How do people make those “Which Coffee Are You?” things? Went back and typed “quiz templates” in the search bar. Mostly saw finished quizzes from other accounts. Useless. Found some designers promoting their paid packs though. Not what I wanted.
Testing Third-Party Stuff
Remembered some apps plug into Instagram for design stuff. Grabbed one everyone talks about. Opened it up and spotted their templates section. Filtered by “free” and “quiz” tags. Jackpot! Well, kind of. Only saw like 4-5 basic ones. One had a broken font. Another used colors that burned my eyes. Why is nothing easy? Downloaded the least awful one anyway to try.
Messing with the Template
Opened the template file in my phone’s editing app. You know, the one with the layers icon. Swiped left to see what was there. Tapped on text boxes to change questions. Tried swapping that ugly yellow background color. Selected it and picked a softer blue. Felt scared hitting save – always think it’ll crash. Made a copy first just in case.
Posting to Instagram
Exported my edited quiz as an image. Back on Insta, I chose that file. Added a snappy caption like “Take this and tell me your result!”. Then hesitated. Should it be Story or Feed post? Went with Feed for starters. Added #FreeQuizTemplate to help others find these. Crossed my fingers and pressed “Share”. Took like an hour just for something that looks simple. Now I gotta make ten more?

The trade-off
Wish Instagram built this in properly instead of making us jump through hoops. Why hide good features? Anyway, off to annoy followers with more quizzes now.
