Okay, so I needed some black and white kite clip art for a project. I figured, how hard could it be? Turns out, it’s a little more involved than you might think, if you want something specific, that is.
First Try: The Obvious
I started by just searching online. I typed in “kite clip art black and white” and hoped for the best. I got a bunch of results, of course. I scrolled and scrolled, and there were plenty of kites, but…
- Some were too cartoony.
- Some had watermarks.
- Some were just…ugly.
I spent a good 20 minutes just weeding through images that didn’t work. I found a few that were okay, but nothing I loved. I needed the perfect kite!
Getting a Bit More Specific
Next, I decided to refine my search. I added words like “diamond kite” and “simple kite outline.” This helped a little. I started seeing more of the classic diamond-shaped kites, which was good. But I still ran into issues with quality and style. A lot of them were too detailed, or had weird shading, even in black and white.
Giving Up… Almost
Okay lets be real.I started to feel a little defeated at this point. I had images and I was close enough,but not quite what I wanted.I wanted something clean, simple, and classic. I did’t know how to make that happen.
The “Aha!” Moment
Then I had a thought. I was able to find the images that are pretty close to what I need, and the picture is simple enough.I could try to edit a images I like by myself! I downloaded a promising image, and the edit function in my computer. I carefully change the images to black and white. It was a bit time taking, I spent about 30 minutes playing with the settings.
Success!
Finally got what I was hoping for! It was the perfect, simple, black and white diamond kite I * just take a bit of effort, but I learned a valuable lesson: sometimes you gotta get a little creative to get exactly what you want!
