Okay, so let me tell you about what I went through with this whole Avon Products bankruptcy thing. It was a bit of a mess, to be honest.

I started by digging into this bankruptcy docket for Avon Products, Inc. The case number is 1:24-bk-11837, and it’s all happening in the Delaware Bankruptcy Court. Judge Craig T. Goldblatt is in charge of it. When I first looked, the last filing was on October 16, 2024. Yeah, that’s a bit in the future, but legal stuff can be weird like that.
Now, Avon’s an old name in the beauty world, right? Known for those ladies going door-to-door selling makeup and stuff. Well, they filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on August 12th. From what I gathered, this Avon Products, Inc. is just a holding company here in the U.S. and doesn’t actually make or sell any products. It’s like the parent company that owns the brand. But, the actual Avon brand that sells stuff in the US is owned by LG Household & Health Care Ltd. They’re not part of this bankruptcy mess.

Here’s where it got interesting:
- I found out that Avon had a bunch of lawsuits against them. People are claiming that the talcum powder in their products caused cancer. Nasty stuff.
- Because of this bankruptcy filing, all those lawsuits are on pause. It’s called an “automatic stay”. Everything gets frozen while the court figures out how to deal with all these claims.
- I also stumbled upon an order for “joint administration” of related cases. Basically, they’re lumping together a bunch of similar bankruptcy cases to make things a little more efficient, I guess.
So, I’m keeping an eye on this whole thing. It seems like there’s gonna be a lot of back and forth before it’s all settled. It’s a shame to see a big name like Avon going through this, but I guess that’s business, sometimes. I just wanted to share my findings with you all, and hopefully, it was easy enough to understand. It’s definitely a situation to watch, for sure. Let’s see how this all unfolds.
Finished! I shared all of the process I have been through.
