Exploring the Legacy: OVER Racing and the Alfa Romeo 155

Alright, buckle up folks, because I’m about to spill the beans on my recent escapade with an Alfa Romeo 155 and an Over Racing exhaust system. It was a wild ride, let me tell you!

So, it all started when I stumbled upon this used Over Racing exhaust online. Always been a sucker for that classic Alfa sound, and I heard this exhaust could really unleash it. Snapped it up without thinking twice, even though my buddy kept saying, “You sure you can handle that, old man?” Showed him!

The Unboxing and Inspection:

First thing, the unboxing. Man, that exhaust was shinier than I expected. Looked brand new. Checked all the welds, seemed solid. Gave it a good once-over, making sure there weren’t any dents or anything. So far, so good.

The “Easy” Removal of the Old System:

Next up, getting the old exhaust off. Figured this would be the easy part, right? Wrong! Those bolts were rusted on tighter than a drum. Sprayed ’em down with WD-40, let it soak, and still nothing. Ended up having to get the torch out. A little heat persuasion, and finally, they budged. What a pain in the rear!

The Installation… A Bit of a Headache:

Okay, now for the fun part – slapping on the Over Racing exhaust. Figured it would be a direct fit, but of course, nothing’s ever that simple. The flange didn’t quite line up with the catalytic converter. Had to do some… adjustments. Nothing a little hammering and filing couldn’t fix. Let’s just say I got pretty friendly with my angle grinder that day.

The Moment of Truth: The Startup:

After a few hours of sweating and cursing, finally got everything bolted up and tightened down. Time for the moment of truth. Turned the key, and… BAM! That Alfa roared to life. The Over Racing exhaust sounded incredible. Deep, throaty, and just the right amount of aggressive. Totally worth the effort.

Fine-Tuning and Test Drive:

Took it for a test drive around the block. Felt like a new car! The throttle response was noticeably better, and the sound… oh, the sound. Turned heads everywhere I went. Had to tweak the exhaust hangers a bit to stop it from rattling against the chassis, but after that, it was smooth sailing.

The Final Verdict:

All in all, installing the Over Racing exhaust on my Alfa Romeo 155 was a real adventure. It wasn’t exactly a walk in the park, but the end result was totally worth it. That exhaust sounds amazing, and it definitely woke up the car. Would I do it again? Probably. But next time, I’m investing in a better set of penetrating oil and maybe a friend to help me out!
