Well, let me tell ya about this fella, Gabriel Moses. Sounds like a big name, right? Don’t know much about fancy folks, but this young man, he takes pictures. Not just any pictures, mind you. Pictures that tell a story, like them old picture books my grandpappy used to have.

Gabriel Moses, a photographer, eh? Now, I ain’t no expert, but from what I gather, he’s got a way of makin’ things look… well, different. He sees things us regular folk might miss, you know? Like the way the sun shines through the cracks in the barn door, or the dirt on a farmer’s hands after a long day’s work. He captures that kinda stuff, but makes it look… artistic, I guess you’d call it.

  • He takes pictures. Lots of ’em.
  • They say he makes movies too, short ones.
  • He had a big show, a “REGINA” they called it.

This Gabriel fella, he ain’t been around forever. Born in 1998, they say. Just a young whippersnapper! But he’s already made a name for himself, apparently. Held a big show, a whole “exhibition” they called it, in London. Fancy place, 180 Studios. Showed off over 50 of his pictures, and even a couple of short movies. Now, I ain’t never been to London, or no fancy studio, but I reckon it was a big deal.

One of them movies, it was about young dancers in some place called Lagos, Nigeria. Don’t know where that is neither, but sounds far off. Dancin’ kids, imagine that! Guess he likes showin’ all sorts of folks, from all sorts of places. That’s good, I reckon. Shows we ain’t all that different, even if we talk different or live in different places.

This “REGINA” show, it was back in 2023, in April. Springtime, when things are startin’ to grow again. Seems fittin’, considerin’ he’s young and just startin’ his own career, like a young sprout reachin’ for the sun. He’s got this way of makin’ regular things look special. Like them old rusty tools in my shed, he could probably take a picture of them and make ’em look like they belong in a museum. That’s talent, I tell ya.

They say he’s got a “sombre aesthetic.” Big words, huh? Don’t know what it means exactly, but I reckon it means his pictures ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. They got depth, like a deep well. You gotta look close to see what’s really there. And he mixes up commercial stuff with his own personal stuff. So, he takes pictures for companies, but he also takes pictures of things he cares about. That’s important, I think. Gotta stay true to yourself, even when you’re makin’ a livin’.

He even puts words with his pictures sometimes, on that “Instagram” thing the young folks are always on. Don’t understand that contraption myself, but it seems like a way to show off your work to the whole world. He calls his pictures “atmospheric,” which I guess makes sense. They got a certain feel to them, like a foggy mornin’ or a hot summer afternoon. You can almost feel the air when you look at ’em.

This Gabriel Moses, he ain’t just takin’ pretty pictures. He’s tellin’ stories, showin’ us the world through his eyes. And from what I hear, it’s a world worth lookin’ at. He’s got a “distinctive approach,” they say. Means he does things his own way, not copyin’ nobody else. That’s how it should be, I reckon. Find your own voice, find your own way of seein’ things, and then share it with the world.

Over 50 pictures and two short films, all in one show. Must’ve been somethin’ to see. He’s worked in fashion and sport too, takin’ pictures of all sorts of things. Sounds like he’s tryin’ his hand at everything, learnin’ as he goes. That’s the way to do it, I say. Don’t be afraid to try new things, even if you fall flat on your face a few times.

And he’s “self-taught,” which means he learned it all on his own. Didn’t go to no fancy school, just picked up a camera and started takin’ pictures. That’s impressive, I gotta say. Shows you don’t need a bunch of degrees to be good at somethin’. Just gotta have passion and a good eye.

So, there you have it. That’s what I know about this Gabriel Moses fella. He’s a young photographer makin’ a name for himself, takin’ pictures that tell stories and showin’ us the world in a whole new light. He seems like a good egg, this young man. Hope he keeps on takin’ pictures for a long time to come.
