Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with my hair color for a while now, and let me tell you, keeping blonde hair looking fresh is no joke. It gets brassy, it gets dull, and you start to wonder if you made a terrible mistake. That’s where purple shampoo comes in, and I recently tried out the Eva NYC Tone It Down Blonde Shampoo.

First off, I heard about this stuff everywhere. Seriously, it’s like every other review online is about this shampoo. And, when I was at Ulta I asked the stylists and they said that they use it and recommend it. The hype is real, people. So, I grabbed a bottle to see what the fuss was all about.
- The first thing I noticed was the smell. It’s kind of sweet, but not like, overpoweringly sweet, you know? It’s actually pretty pleasant.
- The bottle says to leave it on for 3-5 minutes, which I did. I’ve heard that if you use purple shampoo too much, your hair can actually start to look a little purple, so I was careful not to overdo it.
- After I rinsed it out, I conditioned as usual.
And let me tell you, this stuff works. My hair looked noticeably brighter and cooler-toned. The brassiness was gone, and it just looked healthier overall. I also like that their products can be used on extensions and wigs, but I don’t have either so I can’t speak to that.
Honestly, I’m pretty impressed with this Eva NYC purple shampoo. It does what it says it’s going to do, and it doesn’t smell like a chemical factory. It’s definitely going to be a regular in my shower from now on. I’ve only used it a few times now, but I can see why people rave about it, and why it’s got over a thousand reviews. It’s legit.
