So, I started by just gathering images. Went through a bunch online. Noticed pretty quickly it wasn’t all one style. There’s the super delicate, lacy stuff, sure, the kind you’d expect. But then there were simpler pieces too, more like basic shapes but with a certain cut.
Breaking it Down
I really tried to focus on the details:
- Fabrics: Lots of lace, obviously. Some looked like maybe silk or satin? Also saw some ribbed cotton stuff, more casual.
- Cuts: This was interesting. Some high-waisted briefs, thongs, bralettes with thin straps, underwire bras. A real mix of coverage and structure. Some designs felt almost vintage, others very modern.
- Colors: A lot of black, white, and neutrals. But then bam, a bright red or a specific pattern. Seemed intentional, either very classic or a statement.
I spent a while just looking at how different pieces were constructed. Where the seams were, the type of straps used, the closures. Trying to figure out what made them look the way they did. Forget the model for a second, just the item itself.
Finding Similar Vibes
Then I kinda mentally shopped around in my head, thinking about other brands or styles I’ve seen. Where does this fit? Some of it felt really high-end designer, other bits felt more accessible, like stuff you could actually wear day-to-day, just maybe a bit more… forward?
I even tried sketching a couple of basic shapes based on what I saw, just the silhouette. Helped me understand the lines better. It wasn’t about copying, more like internalizing the design elements.
End result? Got a better sense of that specific aesthetic. It’s a mix of delicate, bold, and sometimes surprisingly simple designs. It was actually a decent exercise in just observing and analyzing style choices in a niche area. Took away some thoughts on cuts and material combinations that I hadn’t really considered before. So yeah, that was my little deep dive for the day. Productive, in its own way.
