Well, let me tell ya ’bout this Elizabeth James gal. I ain’t no scholar or nothin’, but I’ll tell ya what I know, the way I know how.
Who is this Elizabeth James, anyway? Seems like a whole bunch of Elizabeth Jameses out there, like weeds in a cornfield. Can’t hardly keep ’em straight. One fella said she’s married to some big-shot politician, John James. Politics, huh? Always sound like a bunch of hot air to me.
Now, another time I heard tell of an Elizabeth James who was an actress and a writer. She was in a movie called “The Born Losers.” Sounds like my kinda movie, somethin’ down-to-earth. This one, she was born way back in 1944 in Texas, bless her heart. She ain’t with us no more, passed away in 2007. That’s a good long life, though.

Then there’s another young’un, only 35 years old, born on May 15th. Don’t know much about her, but she’s Elizabeth James too. Seems like a popular name, like Mary or Susan. Probably a whole heap of ’em in the phone book.
This one Elizabeth James, seems she’s some kinda fashion bigwig. They say she’s real dedicated and can play all sorts of different characters, like dressin’ up for Halloween every day. Folks in the fashion world, they seem to like her a whole lot. Good for her, I say. Takes all kinds to make a world.
I also heard a tale ’bout Elizabeth James taking a big boat, the QE2, from London to New York City. Scared of flyin’, she was, just like me. Wouldn’t catch me up in one of them flyin’ contraptions. On that boat, she met some fella named Nick Parker. Maybe they fell in love, maybe they just ate dinner together, who knows? It’s like one of them stories you hear on the radio.
So, you see, it’s hard to say who exactly Elizabeth James is. Sounds like there’s a whole passel of ’em. One’s a politician’s wife, one’s a movie star, one’s a young whippersnapper, and one’s a fashion lady. And then there’s the one scared of flyin’. Maybe they’re all the same person, livin’ a whole bunch of different lives. Or maybe they’re just different folks with the same name. Life’s funny that way, ain’t it?
Elizabeth James: A Common Name, Many Stories
One thing’s for sure, Elizabeth James is a name that keeps poppin’ up. Some folks know her real well, some folks never heard of her. Just goes to show, you can be famous or just plain folks, and still be an Elizabeth James. Reminds me of all the Marys in my family, always got to use last names to keep ’em straight!
Now, some fellas say this Elizabeth James, the one who likes fashion, they say she’s got a personality like a “Seven” with a “Six wing” or somethin’. Sounds like a chicken to me! But they say she’s got energy all day and night, always up to somethin’ fun. Good for her, I say. Wish I had that kind of get-up-and-go. These days, just gettin’ out of bed is an adventure for me.
Anyway, that’s all I know about Elizabeth James. Like I said, ain’t much, but it’s somethin’. She’s a bunch of folks, or maybe just one, livin’ a whole lot of life. Either way, sounds like she’s doin’ alright. More than I can say for some folks I know.
In short, Elizabeth James ain’t just one person. There’s a whole bunch of ’em out there, doin’ all sorts of things. Some are famous, some are just regular folks. But they all got that same name, Elizabeth James. And that, I reckon, is somethin’ special in itself.
