Dooney and Bourke Is Made Where? Heres the Real Answer to Where Dooney Bags Are Made

Okay, so I’ve been getting into this whole designer bag thing lately, and Dooney & Bourke caught my eye. They’ve got some really nice-looking stuff, but I started wondering, “Where are these bags even made?” I mean, it matters, right? Quality and all that. So I dove in to find out more.

First, I hit up the internet to see what people were saying. Turns out, it’s a common question! Lots of folks are curious about where Dooney & Bourke bags come from. I found out that the brand was started way back in 1975 by a couple of guys named Peter Dooney and Frederic Bourke. At the time, it was just a small company making belts and suspenders in Norwalk, Connecticut. Can you believe that?

Then, I learned that nowadays, Dooney & Bourke bags are made in a few different places: the United States, China, Italy, and Mexico. This made me even more curious, I needed to know how to tell where a specific bag was made.

So, I did some more digging, and found out that if a bag is made in the USA, it’ll have a little cloth tag inside with a serial number that starts with either an “A” or a “B”. Pretty simple, right?

I also found out that bags made in the U.S. have this red, white, and blue tag inside. This company is trying to be transparent, which is pretty cool.

I kept reading and found out that Dooney & Bourke has a design center in Florence, Italy. Apparently, they’ve even done some ad campaigns with celebrities like Lindsay Lohan. Interesting stuff!

My Conclusion

After all this digging, I feel like I’ve got a pretty good handle on the whole “where are Dooney & Bourke bags made” thing. It’s not as simple as just one place, but at least now I know what to look for if I’m ever buying one of their bags. I’m also happy to know that Dooney & Bourke is still making some of their products in the good ol’ USA.
