DIY Taylor and Travis Halloween Costume: Simple Steps to Make it!

Okay, so Halloween’s coming up, and my girlfriend and I were totally stumped on what to dress up as. Then, it hit us: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce! They’re, like, the couple right now, and it seemed like a fun, relevant costume idea. So, we decided to give it a shot.

Getting the Looks Together

First, we tackled my Travis look. I’m not exactly a tight end for the Chiefs, so that part was gonna be…interesting. Here’s what I did:

  • Jersey: This was the easy part. I ordered a Kelce jersey online. Boom, instant football player (sort of).
  • Shorts: I already owned a pair of red athletic shorts. Not perfectly matching, but close enough.
  • Facial Hair: Okay, I can’t grow a beard as impressive as Travis’s. so,I just try to keep some beard to make me look like Travis.
  • Attitude: This is key. I practiced my best “game face” and a few celebratory touchdown poses. Gotta commit, right?

Next up, my girlfriend’s Taylor transformation. She had a little more to work with, which is good because she’s way more into fashion than I am. Here’s what she put together:

  • Outfit: She watched the Eras Tour and kelce’s game, and picked one of Taylor’s look, then she found a similar jacket and pants on market.
  • Hair: She have the blond hair. That’s a win.
  • Makeup: Bold red lipstick is a MUST. She also went for a winged eyeliner look, which she’s pretty good at.
  • Accessories: We couldn’t find a “87” necklace, so she just put on a friendship bracelets.

The Final Result (and Some Goofs)

We put everything on, and… we actually looked pretty good! I mean, I’m no Travis Kelce, but the jersey did most of the work. My girlfriend looked amazing, though. She really nailed the Taylor vibe.

We went to a party, and people seemed to get a kick out of it. We even won a “most topical” award in the costume contest (unofficial, of course). There were a few hiccups. My “football skills” were definitely questioned a few times (I mostly just stood around). And my girlfriend kept getting asked to sing Taylor Swift songs, which, bless her heart, she tried her best at.

All in all, it was a super fun costume. It wasn’t too complicated to pull off, and it got a lot of laughs. If you’re looking for a couples costume that’s relevant and relatively easy, I’d definitely recommend giving this one a try. Just maybe practice your touchdown dance a little more than I did.
