First time was back in, let me think, 2017, I believe. Wore a white thingamajig then. This time, though, it was pink, all pink, like a big ol’ flower.
They say it had these things on it, petals they call ’em. Pink silk, fancy stuff. And shiny things, like them beads I used to put on my Sunday best. Butterflies, too. They’re in that movie together, you know, the one with the witch.
That Ariana, she’s a tiny little thing, ain’t she? But she can sing, I’ll give her that. They was both there at the Met Gala 2024, lookin’ all fancy. I heard they even sang a song together, somethin’ about believin’. I always say, you gotta believe in somethin’, even if it’s just that the sun will come up tomorrow.

She reminds me a little bit of my granddaughter, Mary. Always loved to dress up, that one. Used to put on my old hats and scarves and parade around the house like she was the Queen of England. Maybe she’ll be at the Met Gala someday, just like Cynthia Erivo. You never know, do you?
