Okay, so I’ve been totally obsessed with 60s fashion lately. I decided to try and put together some “cute 60s outfits” myself, just for fun, you know?
Getting Started
First, I dove into some serious inspiration-gathering.I spent hours scrolling through Pinterest, old magazines, and even watched some old movies. The key looks I kept seeing were:
- Mini skirts, obviously!
- A-line dresses, so flattering.
- Bold, bright colors and patterns.
- Go-go boots, a total must-have.
- Peter Pan collars.
- Chunky, colorful jewelry.
Digging Through My Closet (and Mom’s!)
Then, I started rummaging through my own closet. Sadly, not a ton of 60s vibes in there. But, my mom is a bit of a clothes hoarder (in the best way!), so I raided her old stuff. Score! I found a couple of vintage dresses that, with a little tweaking, could totally work.
Putting It All Together
This is where the fun really began. I tried on a million different combinations. I found these basic things from my mom’s closet:
- An orange and pink patterned mini skirt is perfect material.
- A simple white A-line dress is basic but can work.
I paired them with items I already have.
I decided the mini skirt go with a simple tight fitting white * I have some chunky plastic bangles I have add on.
The white dress ,I tried with a pair of bright yellow tights and some white ankle boots. Kinda felt like Twiggy! It is basic but really cute.
The Final Verdict
Okay, so maybe I didn’t end up looking exactly like a 60s model, but I had so much fun! I learned that the key is to just experiment and find pieces that make you feel good. And don’t be afraid to mix and match! A little bit of vintage, a little bit of modern – it all works! It is important to have fun with it.
I think I’ll definitely be incorporating more 60s touches into my everyday style. It’s just so fun and cheerful!
