Custom rings how to order? Minebender Jewelers design process explained!

So last month I decided to finally get that custom wedding ring made, you know? Been putting it off forever. Ended up going with Minebender Jewelers after staring at my screen for like three days straight googling options till my eyes bled.

Where It Started: Just Google It!

First thing I did? Went straight to their main page. Looked kinda simple actually, nothing fancy flashing around. Saw a big “Start Your Order” button staring right at me. Clicked that sucker. Wasn’t sure if they’d ask for my first-born or just basic deets. Pleasantly surprised it was just name and email to get rolling.

Actually Talking to a Human (Thank God)

After like, maybe two days? Got this email from a real person named Sarah. Felt legit. No robot nonsense. She basically said, “Tell me what’s in your head!” So I did. Just dumped my messy thoughts:

Sarah didn’t laugh at my ramble. Sent back some pics of rings that kinda fit my jumbled description. Pretty straightforward stuff.

Sketch Time – My Terrible Stick Figures vs. Their Artist

Okay, this part was weirdly fun and awkward. I tried drawing what I pictured. Looked like a toddler scribbled it. Seriously. Sent it anyway, feeling embarrassed. Sarah hooked me up with one of their designers. Had a quick video call – felt way easier than endless emails. He took my sad drawing and my word vomit and actually understood it! Came back later with proper digital sketches. Not just one, but three completely different directions based on my mess. Mind blown. Way cooler than my stick figure.

Picking Stuff: Gold? Silver? Platinum? Ugh.

Right, materials. Went full deer-in-headlights. Designer talked me through it – not in brainiac terms, thankfully. Like:

Went with Platinum. Just felt right for something I’m wearing forever and banging on countertops daily.

Seeing It In Magic 3D? CAD Files!

Got these CAD files emailed. Freaked me out at first – looked like high-tech blueprints. Could spin it around on my screen though! Zoom in crazy close. Saw literally every single groove, curve, thickness. Looked exactly like the sketch, just super real and precise. Signed off on it digital-style. No printing needed.

Waiting… (The Worst Part)

They gave an estimate: 6-8 weeks. Signed the final papers, sent the deposit (oof, heart skipped a beat, price shock is real). Then radio silence. But honestly? Expected. Handmade stuff takes time. Didn’t bug them. Got a random email update halfway through just saying they were working on it. Nice touch.

The Big Reveal! FedEx Guy Was My Hero

Finally, the email landed: “Shipped!” Tracked it obsessively for two days. Box arrives. Felt like Christmas morning tearing it open. Presentation was slick – velvet box inside. Opened it… and wow. Pictures didn’t do it justice. Heavy. Cold. Sparkly. Fit my weird finger perfectly. All the messy ideas from my head? There it was, in solid freakin’ platinum.

Took forever? Yeah. Cost a pretty penny? Absolutely. But looking at this ring now? Knowing it didn’t exist anywhere before I doodled it? Worth every damn penny and every minute waiting. That’s the Minebender thing. They get the chaos in your brain and actually make it metal.
