Okay, so I’ve been on this handbag kick lately, and the Coach Rogue 25 has been on my radar. I finally decided to go for it and see what all the fuss was about. I needed to see if it’s a good choose for me, especially, I’m a little worried about it’s weight. One thing that kept coming up in reviews was the weight – some people said it was surprisingly heavy, even empty. So, naturally, I had to test this out myself.

First Impressions
When I unboxed it, I have to admit, it looked absolutely stunning. The leather, the stitching, that classic Coach craftsmanship – it was all there. But then I picked it up. Yeah, the reviewers weren’t kidding. This thing has some heft to it, even before I put anything inside.
The Weigh-In
I grabbed my trusty kitchen scale – because, why not? – and put the empty Rogue 25 on it. The result? I don’t remember exactly numbers, but it’s really heavy. Let’s just say it was heavier than any of my other bags of a similar size. Considerably heavier.
Loading It Up
Of course, an empty bag isn’t the whole story. I wanted to see how it felt with my everyday essentials. I tossed in my wallet, phone, keys, a small makeup pouch, and a paperback book (because I’m always optimistic about having time to read).
- Wallet: Your standard, slightly-overstuffed wallet.
- Phone: Big one.
- Keys: with many keys on it.
- Makeup Pouch: Just the basics.
- Book: A regular paperback.
With all that inside, the weight definitely increased. I slung it over my shoulder and walked around my apartment for a bit. It wasn’t unbearable, but it was noticeable. I could definitely feel the weight pulling on my shoulder, which is something to consider if you’re carrying it for long periods.
The Verdict (So Far)
So, is the Coach Rogue 25 heavy? Yes, it is. There’s no getting around that. But, is it too heavy? That’s going to depend on your personal tolerance and what you typically carry. If you’re used to lightweight bags, this will be a noticeable difference.

If you load it up with a ton of stuff, it’s going to get pretty heavy, pretty quickly.
I’m still deciding if the weight is a dealbreaker for me. The bag is gorgeous, and I love the organization and style. But, I’m also someone who tends to overpack, and I’m not sure my shoulder will thank me for carrying this around all day. I’m going to try using it for a few more days, experimenting with carrying less stuff, and see how it goes. Maybe I’ll just need to be more selective about what I bring with me!
