Okay, so I’ve been seeing these claw clip hairstyles everywhere lately, and I finally decided to give it a try. I’m not gonna lie, I was a little intimidated at first. My hair is kinda thick and I wasn’t sure how it’ll work.

First Attempt (Total Fail!)
I grabbed a claw clip I had lying around – it was one of those medium-sized ones. I tried to just, like, twist my hair up and clip it. Big mistake.
- My hair totally spilled out the sides.
- The clip felt like it was gonna pop off any second.
- It just looked…messy. Not in a cute way.
Second Try (Slightly Better)
Okay, so I watched a couple of videos online. Seems like there’s a technique to this. I learned that you gotta gather your hair like you’re making a low ponytail first.
Then, instead of just twisting, you kind of fold your hair upwards against your head. This made a huge difference.
I used the same clip, and it held much better this time. Still a little bit of hair poking out, but definitely an improvement.
Third Time’s the Charm (Success!)
I realized my main problem was the clip size. My hair is just too thick for that medium one. So, I went and bought a larger, stronger claw clip. And that was a game changer!

I followed the same steps as the second try:
- Gathered my hair into a low ponytail.
- Folded it upwards against my head.
- Secured it with the new, bigger clip.
And it worked! My hair stayed in place all day. It looked pretty good, if I do say so myself. I even got a couple of compliments! Finally I think I master it!
So, yeah, it took a few tries, but I finally figured out this whole claw clip thing. Definitely worth it, though. It’s such an easy way to get your hair up and out of your face, and it looks super cute, too.
