Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “black lips” makeup trend all over my feed, and I finally decided to give it a shot. It looked so edgy and cool, I just had to try it.
First, I gathered all my stuff. I needed:
- Black lipstick (obviously!)
- Black lip liner
- Concealer (for cleaning up any mistakes)
- A lip brush (for precise application)
- Setting spray
I started by prepping my lips. I exfoliated them with a lip scrub, it get rid of any dry skin. Then, applied a thin layer of lip balm, not too much, and blotted off the excess with a tissue.I need a smooth canvas, you know?
Next, I lined my lips with the black lip liner. I took my time with this, making sure the line was super sharp and even. A wonky line would ruin the whole look,so I was careful, very careful.
Then came the fun part – applying the black lipstick! I used a lip brush for this, I like control. I started at the center of my lips and worked my way outwards, filling in the entire lip area. I applied two coats to get a really opaque, intense black.
After that, I grabbed a small brush with a bit of concealer and carefully cleaned up any smudges or uneven edges around my mouth. This made the lines look super crisp and defined, you will love it.
Finally, I set everything with a makeup setting spray. I didn’t want my black lipstick to budge all day, so this step was crucial,at least for me.
And that was it! The black lips looked SO dramatic and cool. I paired it with a simple eye look – just some mascara and a bit of winged liner – to keep the focus on the lips. It’s definitely a statement look, but I felt so confident rocking it! I might even try it with a glitter top coat next time for extra sparkle.
