Honestly? Last Thursday totally drove me nuts. Couldn’t think of ANY decent names for this new batch of woven tote bags I designed. Just blank brain, y’know? Stared at my screen like it owed me money. Ugh. Needed something catchy, kinda cute maybe? Fun? Forget “Black Tote #1”. Nope.

Throwing Stuff at the Wall (Digitally)

Grabbed my laptop first thing Friday morning. Opened up a fresh spreadsheet – called it “Bag Name Chaos”. Not kidding. Dumped like 99 garbage ideas in there. Seriously, stuff like “Twilly Twirly Tote”? What was I even thinking? Wasted a solid hour clicking around, deleting junk. Annoying.

Next, I bothered the heck out of chatGPT. Typed in stuff like “cute bag names related to summer and weaving” and “modern fun purse names”. Felt pretty hopeful! Took its giant list of ideas and pasted them right into my chaotic spreadsheet, tweaked a few myself. Most felt… off. Either super generic (“Summer Weaver”) or plain weird (“The Woven Whisperer”). My notebook joined the party too – scribbled down random words like “sunshine”, “cozy”, “carry”. Still didn’t click.

The Lightbulb Moment in the Dark

Saturday afternoon. Absolutely stuck. Seriously considering just naming them all “Steve”. Closed everything. Took a break, felt kinda fried. Ended up organizing my craft room later that night. Like, real late. Found my old brass basket-weave patterned flashlight while sorting stuff under the table. Clicked it on, off, on… The warm light hit the pattern just right. Bam!

“Lantern Glow” popped into my head. For one bag? But it worked! Suddenly, it flowed:

  • Sun-Kissed Knot – That woven feel, warm color idea.
  • Dusty Rose Nook – Perfect for that small lil’ pouch I made.
  • Honeycomb Hobo – Saw the pattern in my head!
  • Twilight Tassel Tote – Sounds so classy but still friendly?
  • Marina Market Bag – Bright blue + green stripes made me think water.
  • Meadow Mingle Mini – Fun name for the tiny bag! Flowers!
  • Clay Canvas Carryall – Loved how earthy the name felt for that beige bag.
  • Gossamer Gatherer – Super light bags needed this name!
  • Pebble Pouch Pal – So cute! Small, round pouch!
  • Lantern Glow – Yep, kept it. Made sense!

Grabbed that flashlight and ran back to the laptop. Didn’t even sit down, just leaned over and typed those bad boys right into the “WINNERS” tab of my spreadsheet. Honestly felt like grinning like an idiot in the dark. Finally cracked it.
