Okay, so I’ve been wanting to customize my Louis Vuitton Speedy bag for a while now. The original strap is fine, but I wanted something a bit more… me. I’ve seen people rocking these awesome canvas straps, and I decided I had to try it out.

The Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed to find a strap. I spent a good few hours scrolling. There are tons of options out there, different colors, patterns, widths – you name it.
Making a Choice
After comparing a bunch, I finally settled on a classic-looking, wider canvas strap with the “LV” logo print but not the actual real deal, it’s all about look, and the logo is well down, it also has some nice leather accents. I figured it would be versatile and go with pretty much everything. I went with a seller that has high ratings with pictures.
The Waiting Game
Then came the hardest part: waiting for it to arrive! It felt like forever. I tracked the package obsessively. You know how it is.
Unboxing and First Impressions
Finally, it arrived! I ripped open the package like a kid on Christmas morning. The strap looked even better in person. The canvas felt sturdy, the hardware seemed solid, and the leather details were a nice touch. I was stoked!
Attaching the Strap
Now for the moment of truth: putting it on my bag. The Speedy has these little D-rings where the original strap attaches. Luckily, the new canvas strap had these swivel clips, so I just clipped one end to each D-ring. It was super easy, no tools required, I just clicked them and done.

The Final Result
I stepped back to admire my handiwork. It looked amazing! The wider strap was way more comfortable on my shoulder, and the overall vibe was just so much cooler. The original strap looked so thin and flimsy in compare to the new one. I filled the bag with my everyday stuff and tried it on, walked around the house, and it is so good! I immediately took some pictures and sent them to my friends. They all loved it!
Final Thoughts
Honestly, this little DIY project was a total win. It was affordable, easy to do, and it completely transformed the look of my bag. If you’re thinking about switching up your strap, I say go for it! You won’t regret it, I am super happy with this new strap.
