They arrived, I pulled one out – the classic wavy one. Slipped it on. Okay, immediate thought: hair is back. Second thought: this feels weirdly tight right behind the ears. The little plastic ends kinda dug into my scalp too. Not painful, but definitely noticeable.

Almost like a plain black strap, maybe half an inch wide. Not too tight, didn’t have hard plastic bits. Tried one of those. Okay, this was better. It stayed put reasonably well, wasn’t super noticeable, and didn’t give me a headache. It wasn’t perfect, sometimes it still slipped a bit if I moved around a lot, but it was the best option I’d found so far.

Look, was this whole headband experiment life-changing? Absolutely not. Mostly it just made me think getting a trim is probably the easiest solution. But I was curious, I tried it out, went through the motions. Those thin elastic ones? They’re okay. I might keep one around for when I’m doing messy jobs around the house or really need my hair pinned back for an hour. But for everyday wear out in public? Nah, still feels a bit weird for me.
