Hey everyone, today I wanted to try something a little different and play around with creating black and white photos of Selena Gomez. I’ve always loved the classic, timeless feel of black and white photography, and Selena has such a striking look, so I figured it would be a fun experiment.

Getting Started
First, I gathered a bunch of photos of Selena. I just did a quick search online and saved a variety of images – some red carpet shots, some candids, some promotional photos, you name it. I wanted to have a good mix of styles and poses to work with.
The Editing Process
Next, I opened up my go-to photo editing software.I’m no expert on using other fancy apps, I have been used one for serveral * I picked a photo I liked and got to work. It was really simple:
- I imported one of the Selena photos.
- I found the “desaturate” tool.
- I clicked it, and boom, instant black and white!
But, I didn’t just want to slap a black and white filter on it and call it a day. I played around with the contrast, brightness, and shadows. I really wanted to make the images pop and give them that dramatic, high-contrast look that I love in black and white photos. It took some tweaking. With the contrast, I usually boosted it a bit, and then I’d adjust the brightness and shadows until I got the mood I was going for.
The Results
Honestly, I was pretty stoked with how they turned out. Some of the photos looked way better in black and white than they did in color. It just gave them a whole different vibe, more artistic, I guess. The high-contrast edits, especially, looked amazing.
It was a super simple little project, but I had a lot of fun with it. Sometimes it’s cool to just mess around with different editing styles and see what you can create. If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to change up your photos, definitely give black and white a try!
