I heard tell it’s a big-shot brand, real high-class stuff. Folks say it started way back when, almost a hundred years ago, by some fella named Cristobal. Sounds foreign, don’t it? He wanted his clothes to be somethin’ different, somethin’ new. They say he made the women look all shapeless, like a sack, but I guess that was the style back then. Imagine that! No waist, just straight up and down. Now, that ain’t how I like my dresses, let me tell ya. I like a good cinch at the waist, makes ya look like ya got a figure, even if ya don’t!

I seen pictures, and sometimes it’s just plain letters, other times they got it all fancy and whatnot. But it always says “Balenciaga,” clear as day.

This logo thing, they keep changin’ it up, seems like. At first, they say it was just plain writin’, you know, like you’d write anythin’ else. But these fancy clothes, I bet they don’t last too long. Too delicate, I reckon. And them prices, they make my head spin. You could buy a whole cow for the price of one of them dresses!

Even though that Cristobal fella is long gone, they still makin’ this Balenciaga stuff. And it’s bigger than ever, they say. People all over the world are wearin’ it, or wantin’ to wear it, anyway. It’s like they got some kinda magic spell over folks. But me, I’m happy with my Sears dresses and my sturdy shoes. Comfort is more important than fashion, if you ask me. And who’s askin’ about a logo anyway, as long as the clothes fit and don’t fall apart, that’s all that matters, right?
So, that’s the story of Balenciaga, as best as I can tell it. A fancy brand with a fancy name and a logo that keeps changin’. More trouble than it’s worth, if you ask me. But hey, to each their own, I always say.
Balenciaga and the Youngsters
Now, I see them young folks wearin’ Balenciaga, or somethin’ that looks like it, anyway. They got them big sneakers, look like clown shoes to me. And them shirts with the big letters, shoutin’ the name out loud. They think it’s cool, I guess. But I remember when clothes were made to last, not just to show off. Times have changed, that’s for sure.
The Price of Fashion
And let’s not forget the price of all this Balenciaga stuff. It’s highway robbery, if you ask me. But people keep buyin’ it, so I guess they got money to burn. Me, I’d rather save my money for a rainy day. Or maybe buy some good, home-cooked food. That’s somethin’ that’ll always make you feel good, unlike a fancy dress that pinches you in all the wrong places.
