Okay, so today I decided to mess around with the “American Sabotage” thing. I’d heard about it, seen some stuff online, but never actually tried it myself. So, I figured, why not? Let’s see what this is all about.

First, I dug around for some basic info. I mean, I didn’t want to go in completely blind. Just wanted a general idea of what I was supposed to be doing. Found some simple instructions, nothing too crazy.
Getting Started
The whole idea is about making small changes, little things that can mess stuff up without being super obvious. I started with, well, my own stuff. Didn’t want to break anything important, you know?
- I loosened the screws on a couple of my kitchen cabinet doors. Just a little, so they’d be slightly wobbly.
- Then, I took the batteries out of the TV remote and hid them in a drawer. Classic, right?
- I hid one sock frome very pair.
The Waiting Game
The funny part is the waiting. It’s not about instant destruction, it’s about the slow burn. I went about my day, doing my usual stuff, but in the back of my mind, I was waiting for those little sabotages to kick in.
My wife opened the cabinet, and I heard a little “huh?” That was it. The door was just a bit wonky. Nothing major, but definitely noticeable. Mission accomplished, I guess? Then the remote thing. I sat there while She was searching for battery. I was chuckling the whole time.
At the end my wife said:”you did it,didn’t you?” and I said “YES”.

Honestly, it was kind of amusing. It’s not about causing real damage, it’s more about… I don’t know, a little bit of controlled chaos? Would I do it again? Maybe. It’s a weirdly satisfying way to spend an afternoon, just making tiny, almost unnoticeable changes.
