My Morning Routine Before The Drop

Woke up way before sunrise, heart already pounding like crazy. Plugged in my laptop and phone together – can’t risk either dying on me. Made a huge pot of coffee, strong stuff. Opened like five different browsers on my laptop: Chrome, Firefox, even dug up Edge. On my phone? Same deal – Safari, Chrome, Firefox Focus. Cleared the cache on every single one like my life depended on it. It probably did.

Logins? Oh yeah. Went down the list:

Set alarms for 10 minutes before drop, then 5 minutes, then 1 minute. Practiced the checkout flow on a cheap pair in my size the night before. Felt ready? Not really. More like ready to be crushed.

The Mad Scramble When It Went Live

Hit refresh on all browsers, all devices, at exactly the second it was supposed to drop. Boom. Site lag hit immediately. Spinning wheels everywhere. Heart sank.

Started spamming that refresh button like a maniac. Firefox totally froze. Killed it immediately. Edge? Got stuck on the waiting room page – loading bar crawling. Kept it open just in case, but focused hard on Chrome on my laptop and Safari on the phone.

Saw the “Add to Cart” button pop up twice on Chrome! Clicked lightning fast… only for the button to grey out instantly. Got the dreaded “Sold Out” message. Gut punch. Almost slammed the laptop shut.

But then… my phone vibrated. Looked down at Safari – somehow the page loaded clean there! Saw the button. Finger moved before my brain did – SMASHED it. Saw the cart pop open. Nearly threw the phone.

The Checkout Nightmare

Cart loaded slow. Painfully slow. Kept whispering “come on, come on, come on”. Used the notes app trick – pasted card number fast. Typed the CVV manually. Fingers felt like sausages. Clicked PAY. More spinning. Thought I’d lost it again.

Suddenly… “Order Confirmed” page!!! Did a literal victory lap around my kitchen table, phone clutched like the Holy Grail. Shouting at the empty room. My cat looked horrified. Dancing like an idiot. That feeling? Pure adrenaline gold.

After The Storm

Collapsed onto the sofa. Exhausted. Felt like I’d just run a marathon. Checked my email like ten times in five minutes waiting for that confirmation. Screen-shotted the order number. Backed it up to two different places. Paranoia mode.

The email finally landed. Huge sigh of relief. Showed the cat. She didn’t care. Texted my sneakerhead buddy immediately. Called this whole thing “war” in my message. Because honestly, that’s what it felt like.

Checked the site again out of habit. Yep. “Sold Out” everywhere. Closed all those extra browsers. Felt tired but stupidly happy. Then immediately started thinking about the next drop… gotta clean my browser history again. Ready to fail again tomorrow.
