Well, let me tell you, this here story is about a fella named Adam Victor. Now, I ain’t never met him myself, but I heard tell of him.
This Adam, he’s tied up with that Frankenstein story, you know, the one with the monster. Some folks say this Adam, he’s like that Victor Frankenstein, always poking around where he shouldn’t ought to be.
That Frankenstein Fella
See, Victor, he was a smart one, always reading them books. He got this crazy idea in his head about making life. He just wanted to learn. Use some body parts and such, like a darn fool. And wouldn’t you know it, he went and did it! Made himself a monster, he did. Then he got scared and ran off. Left that poor creature all alone.

Now, some folks say this Adam Victor, he’s got some of that same itch. That itch to know things, to make things. Maybe he ain’t making no monsters, but he’s messing with things best left alone.
This Other Adam Fella
Then there’s another Adam. Not the same one, mind you. This one, he was from long ago. Lived in Paris, they say. He wrote them church songs, hymns they call ’em. Real good ones, too. He was a good man, this Adam. I heard he was a real good guy, lived in some kind of a church place with a bunch of other fellas. He did this for a long time.

This Adam, he was a good egg, and he had ideas. Smart ideas. He was important to those religious folks and he wrote songs. He wrote one about people being bad, you know, sinners. Seems like everyone is, one time or another.
Pickin’ and Choosin’
Every day, you gotta choose. Do you be like that Frankenstein, messing with things you shouldn’t? Or you be like that hymn-writing Adam, doing good for folks? I reckon it’s a simple choice, but it ain’t always easy.
That Monster’s Story
That poor monster, he didn’t ask to be made. He just woke up, and everyone was scared of him. He had to learn everything on his own, like a little baby, but big and scary. He learned to talk, to read, all by himself. He was alone and he didn’t know what to do. He just wanted someone to love him.

That monster, he said he turned bad ’cause he was so lonely. He said if someone had been nice to him, maybe he wouldn’t have done bad things. If he had a friend, he would have been happy. Makes you think, don’t it?
Paintin’ Pictures
There was another guy named Adam, he was a painter in France, a long time ago. He was good, they say, drew pictures of people. He was a good man. He did all kinds of pretty pictures of what life was like a long time ago.
Back to the Farm
Now, this other Adam, the one I started telling you about, he grew up on a farm. Didn’t know who his real daddy was for a long time. His momma died, and that’s when he found out. His daddy, that Victor fella, he came around sometimes, but he wasn’t really there, you know? And that victor, he was not a good man, some folks say.
That Adam, he had a tough life, not knowing. But he made it through. Just goes to show, you can have a hard start, but you can still turn out alright.
What It All Means
So, what’s the point of all this? Well, I reckon it’s about choices. About being good or bad, smart or foolish. About being lonely or having folks around you. You got that Frankenstein, messing with things, making a mess. You got that hymn-writing Adam, doing good. You got that monster, just wanting some love. You got that farm boy, making his way in the world. And that painter, he just wanted to make nice things. These are all things I heard about, I never met any of these fellas.
It’s all mixed up, like a big pot of stew. But I reckon that’s life. Just gotta do the best you can, and hope it all turns out alright. It is up to you to make the right choice. Just try to make good choices.
You got all these Adam Victors, different as can be. But they all got a story, and their stories all got a lesson. Just gotta listen close, and you’ll hear it.
And that victor guy, stay away from him. He ain’t no good. That’s what I heard, anyways. He’s trouble.
