Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with “green and grey dunks”:

So, I finally jumped on the Dunk hype train, but I wanted something a little different. I’d been seeing those green and grey Dunks everywhere, and I was like, “Okay, I gotta get my hands on those.”

The Hunt Begins

First, I hit up all the usual online spots. You know, the big retailers and stuff. No luck. Sold out everywhere, of course. These things are like gold dust!

Then, I started checking out some smaller boutiques and resell shops online. I found a few pairs, but the prices were insane! I mean, I like sneakers, but I’m not trying to take out a loan for them.

Getting Crafty

After a few days of searching, I was getting a little discouraged. But then I had an idea. I remembered seeing some people customizing their own Dunks online. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”

  • I ordered a pair of plain white Dunks. Those were easy enough to find.
  • Next, I went to the art supply store and picked up some leather paint in the perfect shades of green and grey.
  • I also grabbed some masking tape, brushes, and a sealant to protect the paint.

The Customization Process

Honestly, I was a little nervous at first. I’m not exactly the most artistic person. But I watched a bunch of tutorial videos online, and it seemed pretty straightforward.

First, I cleaned the shoes really well to make sure the paint would stick. Then, I carefully taped off the areas I wanted to paint green, leaving the rest of the shoe exposed for the grey.

The painting part took a while. I did a few thin coats to make sure the color was even and there were no streaks. I let each coat dry completely before adding the next one. Patience is key, people!

Once i finished,I sprayed the shoes with the sealant and let them dry overnight.

The Final Result

I have to say, I was pretty stoked with how they turned out! They looked almost exactly like the ones I’d been searching for, but I made them myself, and that was a cool feeling.

It wasn’t a super quick or easy process, but it was definitely worth it. Now I have a unique pair of Dunks that I can rock with pride, and I saved a bunch of money in the process. Win-win!
