3 Wheel Car Raptor Review: Crazy Fun or Just Crazy?

Okay, so I got this crazy idea stuck in my head: a three-wheeled car. Not just any three-wheeler, though. I wanted something that looked mean, aggressive – a real head-turner. I’m calling it the “Raptor.”

3 Wheel Car Raptor Review: Crazy Fun or Just Crazy?

I started by sketching out some rough ideas. I’m no artist, but I can get the basic shapes down. I pictured a low-slung body, kind of like a sports car, but with a single wheel in the back. I played around with different front-end designs, trying to make it look as fierce as possible.

Next, I jumped into some basic 3D modeling. I’m not a pro at this, but I know my way around some free software. I blocked out the main shapes – the body, the wheels, the cockpit area. It looked pretty clunky at first, but it gave me a good sense of the overall proportions.

  • First, I created a basic chassis. Just some simple shapes to represent the frame.
  • Then, I added the body panels. I wanted sharp angles and aggressive curves.
  • The wheels were next. I made them oversized and chunky, for that off-road look.
  • Finally, I roughed out the interior. Just a basic seat and steering wheel for now.

After that, I spent some time refining the design. I tweaked the curves, added some details like headlights and air intakes, and generally tried to make it look less like a blocky mess and more like a real vehicle. I also experimented with different materials and colors, although that’s still very much a work in progress.

The whole thing is still very much in the early stages. There’s a ton of work left to do. I need to figure out the engineering – how the suspension will work, how to power it, and all that practical stuff. But it is exciting. Just seeing it take shape, even in this rough form, is incredibly motivating.

Next Steps:

I have printed my draft, and keep it in my view, then I can be remined by the draft to improve my design everyday!
