Loewe Origami Bag Review: Pros and Cons (Honest Opinion After Using It)

So, I’ve been eyeing this Loewe Origami bag for a while now, and I finally decided to make one myself. I mean, why not, right? Let’s dive into how this project went down.

Loewe Origami Bag Review: Pros and Cons (Honest Opinion After Using It)

Getting Started

First things first, I gathered all the stuff I needed. This included some pretty sturdy leather, a pattern I found that looked like the Loewe bag, and the usual suspects like a cutter, ruler, and some strong thread. Oh, and definitely a good set of needles.

Cutting the Leather

I started by laying out the leather and traced the pattern onto it. Cutting it out was a bit of a hassle, to be honest. You really need a sharp cutter to get through leather cleanly. I messed up a couple of times and had to be extra careful not to ruin the whole piece.

Assembling the Pieces

  • Next, I punched holes along the edges where the stitching would go. This was kind of therapeutic, in a weird way.
  • Then came the fun part – stitching. I used a saddle stitch, which I’d practiced a bit before. It’s supposed to be super durable, which is exactly what you want for a bag.
  • Slowly but surely, I stitched the pieces together, making sure everything lined up nicely. It was a bit tricky to keep the tension even, but I think I managed okay.

Adding the Finishing Touches

Once the main body of the bag was done, I worked on the handles. These were a bit more complicated because they needed to be really secure. I reinforced them with extra stitching and even added a bit of glue just to be sure.

The Final Result

After hours of work, I finally finished the bag! It’s not exactly like the real Loewe Origami, but I’m pretty proud of it. It’s got that handmade charm, you know? Plus, I saved a ton of money by making it myself.

Would I do it again? Maybe. It was definitely a learning experience, and I’m not sure I’d want to go through all that stitching anytime soon. But hey, I’ve got a cool new bag out of it, and that’s what counts!
