The John Allen Boat Collection: Get a Closer Look at His Boats

Okay, so, let me tell you about this little project I’ve been messing around with – the John Allen boat collection. It all started when I stumbled upon some information about a guy named John Johnson, who was really into collecting printed stuff. I thought, “Hey, that’s interesting, but what if I did something similar with boats?” Not real boats, of course, I’m not made of money! But like, information and pictures about boats.

The John Allen Boat Collection: Get a Closer Look at His Boats

So, I started digging around. I found out about this other guy, John G. Alden, who designed all sorts of cool boats and yachts. That got me even more excited. I figured, I could focus my collection on boats designed by this Alden guy. It seemed like a good starting point, a way to narrow things down a bit, you know?

I spent hours searching online, looking for anything and everything related to John G. Alden and his boats. I found some really neat stuff, like old design plans and photos of these beautiful yachts. I even came across a mention of something called the “Hart Nautical Collection,” which sounded pretty important. I made a note to look into that more later.

Building the Collection

  • First, I created a simple document to keep track of everything.
  • Then, I started adding entries for each boat I found, noting down the name, year it was designed, and any other interesting details I could dig up.
  • I also started saving images of the boats, organizing them into folders on my computer.

It was slow going at first, but I was having fun. It felt like I was a detective, piecing together this forgotten history of boats. I even found a random post online about some “Nikki Matlock Johnston,” who had nothing to do with boats, but it was a fun little detour. And then there was this other thing, “John Monahan Boat Collection,” which was kind of similar to what I was doing, but not quite. It was just a couple of guys posting about boats, nothing serious.

Anyway, I kept at it, adding more and more boats to my collection. I’m not sure where this is all going, maybe nowhere. But for now, it’s a fun little hobby, and I’m learning a lot about boats and this John G. Alden guy. Maybe one day I’ll have a really impressive collection, who knows? Or maybe I’ll just get bored and move on to something else. We’ll see!
