Want Cool 70s Outfits Black? These Tips Will Help You.

So, the other day I was scrolling through my Instagram feed, and I kept seeing these amazing ’70s-inspired outfits. I mean, the colors, the patterns, the whole vibe – it just screamed fun and freedom. I’ve always loved that era’s fashion, especially how Black women rocked it with their own unique flair. You know, taking those disco and glam rock influences and making them totally their own. So, I decided, “Why not try to recreate some of these looks myself?”

Want Cool 70s Outfits Black? These Tips Will Help You.

First, I dug deep into my closet. I pulled out anything that even remotely resembled ’70s style. I found a pair of old bell-bottom jeans that I hadn’t worn in ages, a few flowy tops, and even a vintage suede mini skirt that I’d scored at a thrift store years ago. I also remembered I had some platform sandals stashed away somewhere. After a bit of searching, I found them in the back of my shoe rack, covered in dust.

Then, I started experimenting. I tried on the bell-bottoms with a bright, patterned halter top and the platform sandals. It felt a little too on-the-nose, so I swapped the halter top for a simple white t-shirt. Much better! It looked cool and casual, perfect for a day out.

  • Mix and match: I paired that suede mini skirt with a knit tank top to see how they worked together.
  • Accessories: Then, I added a wide-brimmed hat and some oversized sunglasses to complete the look.
  • Color scheme: I focused on warm colors, like browns, oranges, and yellows, to really capture that ’70s vibe.

Next, I wanted to try something a bit dressier. I found a long, flowy maxi dress with a bold print in my closet. It was a little too plain on its own, so I added a wide leather belt to cinch in the waist and give it some shape. I paired it with some chunky gold hoop earrings and those same platform sandals. This outfit felt so glamorous, like I was ready to hit the disco!

Experimenting is Key

I spent the whole afternoon trying on different combinations, mixing and matching pieces until I found outfits that felt right. It was so much fun! I even took some photos to document my progress and to get some feedback from my friends. They loved it! Some of them even got inspired to try out their own ’70s looks.

Honestly, this whole experience was a blast. It was like stepping back in time and exploring a different side of my style. Plus, it was a great way to pay homage to the Black women who really made ’70s fashion what it was. I’m definitely going to be incorporating more of these looks into my regular wardrobe. Who knows, maybe I’ll even start a ’70s fashion revival!
