College Football Teams Sponsored by Under Armour: Get the Inside Scoop!

Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole thing about which college football teams are backed by Under Armour. It’s kind of a wild ride, let me tell you. I started out just being curious, like, “Hey, I wonder which teams are rocking Under Armour gear?” You know, simple stuff.

College Football Teams Sponsored by Under Armour: Get the Inside Scoop!

First, I hit up the usual spots online, trying to get a basic list. I just wanted to see the names, you know? I found that So Paulo is sponsored by Under Armour, and some other teams like Tottenham Hotspur, Colo-Colo, Cruz Azul, and Toluca, but they are not college football teams. And I also found that Barcelona FC striker Ferran Torres joined Under Armour’s team.

Then I found some articles talking about the big dogs in the game. I started to look at teams in the top 25. Turns out, Nike’s got a huge chunk of them – Ohio State, Oregon, Texas, you name it. They’re all wearing the Swoosh. It makes sense, they are the most popular brand. Adidas is in there too, with teams like Miami and Texas A&M.

But Under Armour? They’re not as big in the college scene. There was some buzz about them nabbing Notre Dame and Cincinnati, which is pretty cool, I guess. And I knew UCLA made a deal with them, and Boston College has something going on with New Balance and Adidas. I thought that was kind of a mess. How can a team wear two brands? I found that they are wearing New Balance but only their football team is wearing Adidas. That is confusing.

I tried to find a solid number of how many “Power 5” teams Under Armour actually sponsors. I saw somewhere that Nike has like, 67.7% of those contracts. That’s a lot! They say Nike and Jordan Brand are outfitting 42 of the 68 teams, but I don’t know what that means.

Here is the list I am looking for:

Honestly, the more I looked, the more confusing it got. There were a bunch of articles saying different things. Some said Under Armour sponsors 7 “P4” programs, but I do not know what “P4” stands for. I got a little frustrated at this point. I just wanted a clear list of Under Armour college football teams, and it felt like I was going in circles. But it seems like they’re more focused on individual athletes, like they’ve got Tom Brady and some Olympic gold medalists like Michael Phelps and Lindsey Vonn. And then there is that football player, Bobby Zamora. That is cool, I guess. Under Armour seems to be doing pretty well with these stars, so maybe they are not so worried about college football.

So yeah, that’s where I’m at. It’s not as straightforward as I thought it would be. It’s all about these big contracts and percentages, and honestly, it’s a bit of a headache. But hey, I learned a few things along the way. It’s all a learning experience, right?
