So, I decided to try out that Benefit Brow Bar in Berkeley the other day. I’d heard some buzz about it and, you know, my brows were getting a little out of control. I walked into their boutique on Fourth Street – it’s a cute little spot, pretty easy to find.
First thing, I checked out their services. They’ve got waxing, threading, even brow lamination, which I’m not quite ready for yet. They also had this thing called “The POREfessional Good Pore Day facial,” which sounded interesting, but I was there for the brows, so I stuck to that.
I didn’t have an appointment, but it wasn’t a problem. They took me in as a walk-in. The lady who helped me was super friendly. She asked me what I wanted, and I just told her to clean them up, make them look presentable, you know? I did not want to change my eyebrows that match my face.
- She started with a consultation, which was pretty cool.
- She did some brow mapping, basically figuring out the best shape for my face. It was more involved than I expected, but hey, I’m all for expert advice.
- I opted for waxing. It was quick and, honestly, not too painful. I have had worse waxing experiences, for sure.
The Result
After the waxing, she tweezed a few stray hairs and trimmed them a bit. Then she showed me the result in a mirror. I was pretty happy with how they turned out. They looked clean and natural, not overdone. She definitely knew what she was doing.
Overall, it was a good experience. The place was clean, the staff was nice, and most importantly, my brows looked great. It was a bit pricier than some other places, but I felt like I got my money’s worth. I’ll probably go back again when my brows start getting unruly again.
I would recommend the Benefit Brow Bar in Berkeley. Just make sure you know what you want before you go in. They do a good job, and it’s a nice little treat for yourself. It was a nice experience for me. I will go again.
